The Good Bits Study
Student investigator: Eva Johansen
Chief investigator: Simone Buzwell
Are you a young transperson?
We are inviting people aged 15 to 19 years, currently living in Australia, who do not identify with the gender presumed for them at birth to take part in an anonymous online research project.

When it comes to sex, how do you navigate the tricky bits so you can get to the good bits?
We want to know about your thoughts, feelings and opinions related to sex. By listening to your voice, we hope to discover some practical, helpful ways to empower young trans people to feel confident, comfortable and in control when it comes to sex and sexuality.
You will receive an enamel trans pride flag pin, raising funds for Minus 18.

Barriers and Facilitators to Accessing Trauma Training among Psychiatrists and Psychologists
Student investigator: Ruby Hamer
Chief investigator: Jessica Mackelprang
What is this project about?
This study aims to identify the barriers and facilitators that mental health professionals encounter while accessing trauma-related training, as well as their preferences and needs regarding trauma-related training.

What will I be asked to do?
You are eligible to take part in this research project if you are an English-speaking psychologist or psychiatrist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or international equivalent, if you are outside Australia. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete a 10-minute online survey. You will be asked demographic questions (e.g., age, gender, profession), questions that explore your trauma-related training experiences and needs, and questions associated with two case vignettes.

Queer Experiences of Discrimination & Trauma (QUEST) Study
Student investigators: Lucca Randazzo & Nikoletta Apostolidis
Chief investigator: Jessica Mackelprang
What is this project about?
LGBTQIA+ people are at higher risk of experiencing a potentially traumatic event or posttraumatic stress disorder throughout their lifetime. Many LGBTQIA+ people also report experiencing discrimination based on their identity. This study aims to learn more about how discrimination can affect wellbeing, posttraumatic stress symptoms, and thoughts among LGBTQIA+ people.
What will I be asked to do?
If you choose to participate, we ask you to complete an online survey that will take 10-15 minutes. First, you will be asked demographic questions. You will then be asked about potentially traumatic events and discrimination events you may have experienced. You will also be asked about your mental health and thoughts and feelings about your sexuality and personal safety.
